My name is Nicole Borens and I am a Chicago-based graphic designer with expertise in email marketing. I work with B2Bs, B2Cs, agencies, and non-profits across a variety of projects, platforms, and media.
With over a decade of experience as a contract designer, I have worked for brands including LinkedIn, Harvard, PGA Tour, The Field Museum, and UNICEF, and have been featured on sites like Medium and Design Wizard. I created and ran the Etsy store, Dungeons and Decals. I recently began repurposing D&D artwork for Society6.
My day often consists of 50% email marketing, and 50% graphic design — including web ads, landing pages, hero images, and UI (user interface) design. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and XD. I am HubSpot certified in email marketing. For which, I build in Sublime Text and test in both Litmus and Email On Acid. I have also have experience testing, deploying, and email analytics reporting in Mailchimp, ExactTarget, Pardot, Marketo, Selligent, Eloqua, Direct Mail Mac, and Acoustic.
Coding pixel-perfect email templates, deploying campaigns, and optimizing email service providers — you can count on me for just about anything email. In addition to having created hundreds of graphic deliverables, my email templates render across all email clients, helping the brands I work with get the best ROI, achieve their goals, scale their operations, and elevate their business above their competitors.
My design philosophy is less is more. Say yes to white space! I like to travel the world, eat at restaurants I can’t afford, and have the fanciest cheap home you’ll ever see — I live and breathe design. I approach work and play with curiosity and experimentation, using what I learn to create meaningful digital designs and products that connect with people, just like you.
When I'm not working, I like to work on home improvement projects and play with my Siberian Husky, Leo.
